Intense Pulsed Light/”FotoFacial”

For years Lumenis’ intense pulsed light technology has been viewed as the gold standard in the industry. Through pulses of broad band light, the Lumenis One targets sun damage, improving pigmentation, in the form of age spots and melasma; red tones, in the form of redness, rosacea, and broken capillaries; and stimulates collagen production, improving fine lines, texture, and skin tone.

Blood Vessels and Sun Spots

Our IRIDEX Varilite KTP/Diode laser is the perfect treatment for patients bothered by age spots and red spots. While it easily treats red spots such as angiomas, it excels at treating facial blood vessels, including the stubborn blood vessels on the nose and cheeks. Patients with rosacea also see great benefit from this laser. Aside from mild redness, there is minimal downtime associated with treatment.

Laser Hair Removal

The Lumenis One diode laser safely and gently reduces hair growth and ingrown hairs throughout the body. It smoothes skin texture and eliminates noticeable hair follicles. The diode laser, as well as the longer wavelength 1064 nm Nd:Yag handpiece, allows effective treatment of all skin types, with a very low risk of undesirable side effects.

MicroLaser Peel

ResurfacingLogo%28superficial%2Cfractionated%2C anddeep%29The MicroLaser Peel is a form of superficial resurfacing utilizing the technology of our Sciton Erbium laser to improve fine lines, pigmentation and tone and texture of the skin.

Unlike microdermabrasion and light chemical peels, which remove only the very most superficial layers of skin, Microlaser peels can be customized to remove additional layers, providing greater patient satisfaction with minimal down time. Often called the “weekend peel,” most treatments require between 1­- 4 days of recovery time, depending on the depth of treatment. It offers the added benefit of safe and effective use on non­facial areas, such as the neck and chest, a quality not often attributed to its CO2 competitors.

Fractionated Resurfacing

ResurfacingLogo%28superficial%2Cfractionated%2C anddeep%29We combine fractional technology with the more aggressive power of the Sciton Erbium laser to produce more dramatic results than traditional fractional CO2 lasers.

This technology improves sun­ damaged skin, reducing fine and deeper wrinkles and provides natural skin tightening through the generation of new collagen within the skin. It also improves stretch marks and impressively treats acne scars, which can be difficult to improve with other lasers. This is the perfect option for a patient who desires a more youthful appearance within minimal downtime; patients traditionally heal and are applying makeup in approximately 5 days.

Deep Resurfacing

This option is the most effective treatment for deeper wrinkles, including those pesky lines around the lips and eyes. This technology offers a unique advantage over CO2 lasers.

Heat generation within the skin through the use of both Erbium and CO2 technologies is responsible for its collagen generating and skin tightening abilities. However, too much heat can be a double­-edged sword…it is also responsible for the long healing time often associated with traditional CO2 lasers. Erbium lasers allow us to titrate up or down the amount of heat we want to generate in the skin. This is an enormous advantage in reducing healing time of patients compared to traditional CO2 lasers. While recovery is longer than the fractionated resurfacing treatments, the results obtained in one treatment session are more dramatic.

Pellevé/PelleFirm

PelleveLogoPellevé and PelleFirm are non-invasive proven technologies that provide safe and effective skin tightening. They precisely heat the deep layers of the skin using radio frequency energy, causing contraction of existing collagen. Pellevé can be used to treat the skin on the face, including the nasolabial folds, forehead, and wrinkles and loose skin around the mouth and eyes. PelleFirm can address almost any area of the body and is ideal for problem zones including the abdomen, arms, buttocks and thighs and can be used on all skin types. These treatments provide visible results with no pain or downtime. Although many people start to see results immediately after the first treatment, most patients begin with a package of 3-4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. Photodynamic therapy with BLU-U

Photodynamic therapy is a highly effective treatment of precancerous lesions, termed actinic keratoses (AKs). It can be utilized to treat multiple areas of the body, including the face, scalp, chest, and arms. This treatment is performed in the office and utilizes the unique properties of a topical solution called Levulan, or aminolevulinic acid. When Levulan is applied to skin affected by actinic keratoses, it is absorbed by the AKs and converted to a chemical that makes the cells extremely sensitive to light. The AK cells are then exposed to blue light, causing a reaction that destroys them. The time between application and blue light exposure ranges from one to 24 hours depending on the area of treatment.

The blue light is of low intensity and will not heat the skin, however patients may experience a burning or stinging sensation in the area during exposure. The discomfort improves at the end of the 17 minute treatment, but may persist as long as 24 hours afterwards. Following treatment, the treated area may redden, much like a sunburn, and then resolves with flaking over several days. Patients are asked to refrain from exposure of the treated sites to sunlight or bright light for up to 48 hours after application of the solution.

Blue Light Therapy for Acne

The BLU-U is a unique blue light that improves mild to moderate acne in both teenagers and adults by reducing the population of P. acnes bacteria in the skin. Treatments last 17 minutes and are performed once or twice per week for several weeks. It is a safe and painless treatment with no associated downtime. Blue light therapy may be added to a patient’s current prescription acne regimen or may be an option for those patients who are uncomfortable with oral antibiotics or Isotretinoin (generic for Accutane).

Tattoo Removal

PicoSure targets unwanted ink more effectively than ever before, successfully removing difficult ink colors, such as blues and greens, as well as previously treated tattoos. Fewer treatments, faster recovery time, and greater results are achievable with PicoSure’s groundbreaking picosecond technology.

Traditional tattoo lasers are termed “nanosecond lasers,” because each pulse of energy has a duration in nanoseconds. Destruction of tattoos by this method relies on the generation of heat to break down the pigment. The PicoSure is the only laser in its class to produce energy pulses in the picosecond range, which also allows it to destroy tattoos by shattering the target ink into tiny particles that are easily eliminated by the body.

 

Acne Scars and Sun Spots

PicoSure’s FOCUS handpiece expands the use of this picosecond laser beyond the treatment of tattoos to acne scars, as well as brown spots and wrinkles. Improvement is attainable without the prep time or down time associated with other effective resurfacing treatments. In fact, patients typically experience only one hour of redness after treatment, allowing a fast return to regular activities. Similar to other lasers in its class, several sessions are generally necessary to see improvement.
