Amanda J. Nguyen, MD, is a board-certified dermatopathologist and Las Vegas native. She grew up in Summerlin and moved to Texas to earn her Bachelor of Science in Public Health at the University of Texas at Austin, followed by medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Dr. Nguyen completed post-graduate training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, including a 4-year residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology followed by a 1-year fellowship in Dermatopathology. During residency and fellowship, she participated in multiple research projects in the field of dermatopathology, focusing primarily on pathologic diagnosis of challenging skin diseases including cutaneous lymphoma and adnexal tumors. She presented at numerous national and international meetings and won two research presentation awards from the American Society of Dermatopathology. Dr. Nguyen is committed to providing the highest standard of care for patients through expert diagnosis of skin diseases under the microscope.

 

Dr. Nguyen is excited to be part of the Thomas Dermatology team and to serve patients throughout Nevada and Arizona. She is dedicated to providing specialized dermatopathology services that help our providers deliver exceptional patient care.

In her spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, reading, baking sourdough bread, and trying new recipes.
