At Thomas Dermatology, we offer advanced dermal biostimulator treatments to help restore volume, improve skin quality, and stimulate natural collagen production for long-lasting, youthful results. Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume, biostimulators work gradually, enhancing your skin’s structure over time for a natural and refreshed appearance.
What Are Dermal Biostimulators?
Dermal biostimulators are injectable treatments that stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, helping to restore lost volume, improve skin texture, and enhance firmness. These treatments provide longer-lasting and more natural results than traditional fillers, as they work with your body’s regenerative processes.

What to Expect During Treatment
Your provider at Thomas Dermatology will perform a consultation to evaluate your individual goals and customize a dermal biostimulator treatment plan to match your skin needs. Sometimes these plans may combine dermal biostimulators with other treatments such as neurotoxin, fillers and laser to achieve the best, most natural looking results.
Dermal biostimulator treatments are quick, in-office procedures typically taking 30-45 minutes. A topical numbing cream is typically applied to ease discomfort during injections. The skin is cleansed and prepped with an antibacterial agent. Our expert injectors use advanced techniques to achieve natural, balanced results. A series of treatments may be recommended for optimal results. Mild swelling, redness, or bruising may occur but typically resolves within a few days. Results appear gradually as your body produces more collagen, with full effects visible within 3-6 months.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are dermal biostimulators?
Biostimulators (e.g. Sculptra®, Radiesse®) are injectable substances that stimulate your own collagen and elastin production gradually, rather than merely filling. Because regenerative response differs among individuals, outcomes vary.
What results should I expect?
Improvements generally appear slowly over weeks to months. Because your tissue quality, regenerative potential, and treated area differ, the magnitude and speed of change differ. With maintenance, effects may last longer in many patients.
What is treatment like?
The procedure typically takes 30–45 minutes under numbing. Mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness may occur afterward. Your provider will give specific aftercare instructions. Because each patient’s density, vascular supply, and healing vary, recovery and final results differ.
