Douglas Thomas, MD, FAAD, is the founder and Medical Director at Thomas Dermatology, with offices in Bullhead City, Kingman, and Lake Havasu City, Arizona, as well as two locations in Las Vegas and one in Henderson, Nevada. He boasts many years of experience treating people of all ages. His areas of expertise include pediatric and surgical dermatology, including skin cancer treatment.
Dr. Thomas grew up in Las Vegas and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in Summerlin, Nevada. He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology with honors from the University of San Diego in California.
He graduated with honors from medical school at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles (UCLA), where he also completed an internship in pediatrics and a residency in dermatology. Dr. Thomas was selected Chief Resident and appointed Assistant Clinical Professor.
He worked as a principal physician at Las Vegas Skin and Cancer Clinics for nearly two decades and was appointed Medical Director. He was Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine/Dermatology at The University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas.
Dr. Thomas has published many articles in prestigious medical journals, including The Journal of Infectious Disease, Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, and The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. He maintains his advanced credentials with continuing education.
Dr. Thomas is a member of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, Las Vegas Dermatology Society, and Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada, providing free care to local residents experiencing financial hardships. He has been voted Las Vegas Top Dermatologist in Las Vegas Life Magazine since 2002.
In his free time, Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Although Dr. Thomas no longer practices, he is passionate about mentoring and leading his staff in order to help create the next generation of patient-oriented providers.
